Item Description

Original Watercolor by Artist Martha Guthrie -of The Old Absinthe House & the Cajun Cowboy in the French Quarter of New Orleans. This is professionally framed & artist-signed. There is also a part of an entertainment poster that reads "...LAND JAZZ" ( stands for "DIXIELAND JAZZ"). For almost 200 years the Old Absinthe House bar has been a staple of life in the French Quarter. Located on the corner of Rue Bourbon and Rue Bienville, the cooper-topped wooden bar captivates patrons as they sip their favorite beverages and the sights and sounds of the French Quarter trickle into this comfy tavern.
Martha Guthrie mastered the use of beautiful, warming colors of rose, pinks, & greens in this painting! Feels uplifting to view this. Martha Guthrie's business card of the period is attached on the back side: "WATERCOLORS; STUDIO, NEW ORLEANS , LA".
New Orleans artist Martha Guthrie's still life paintings are watercolors of superb compositions with an exacting attention to detail. Guthrie has exhibited at many national and regional juried shows in Louisiana, Mississippi, Oklahoma and Texas. She also exhibited with the Audubon Artists in New York City and the Adirondacks National Exhibition of American Watercolors in Old Forge, New York. Guthrie credits her best training to the 15 years she spent painting on Jackson Square in the French Quarter.
DIMENSIONS: Visible artwork - 7" Wide x 11" Tall. The Frame is - 15 1/4" Wide x 19 1/4" Tall x 1 1/4" Thick
Overall in Good Condition - Professionally framed with double layers of matting. Original Cardboard backing on the backside of the Frame has some old masking tape and modest metal hardware for Hanging. Please study my photographs (my apologies for any reflections in the plexiglass).

NO EXCEPTIONS. ITEMS NOT PICKED UP DURING ALLOTTED PICK UP HOURS WILL BE CONSIDERED FORFEITED WITHOUT REFUNDS. IF YOU CAN NOT MAKE THE PICK UP TIMES, SEND A FAMILY MEMBER or FRIEND WITH YOUR INVOICE.

PLEASE FOLLOW THESE GUIDELINES FOR PICK-UP:
- Every buyer MUST wear a mask and bring their own pen for Invoice signature purposes.
-Please -only 1 Person inside the main Pick-Up room at a time.
- If there is a buyer ahead of you, or Auction Staff members near you, please keep at least 6 feet in-between each other in accordance with the recommended social distancing guidelines.
- All of our personnel will be wearing the appropriate protection gear at the time of pickup.

• Winning Bidders must bring help if required for carrying large/ heavy items & please bring your proper packaging materials (boxes, wrapping paper, bubble wrap, furniture blankets, etc) if needed for pickup.
• Packing, Moving & Transporting of your items will NOT BE PROVIDED upon pickup.
