Original Signed Jack D. Tippett 1949 Watercolor "Flying B Creek"
Tippit was a well known cartooninst. Best known for his kong running comic Strip AMY, which ram from 1969 - 1991. He also contributed to many other long running comic strips. His work appeared in the New Yorker, Ladies Home Journal and Saturday Evening Post to name a few.
Its not enough he was a talented artist, he was also a combat pilot in WWII, as well as the Korean and Vietnam conflicts. He retired with the rank of colonel.
This piece came from the estate of a personal friend who was also the Producer of the original production of the WIZ and many more broad way shows.
This watercolor is in excellent condition, in an original period wooden frame.
It measures 18" x 15.5 framed11.5" x 8.5" unframed.
