In an effort to explain Le Bon Genre to any potential bidders, we would like to take a dive into the exciting history of these pieces. Le Bon Genre translates from French to "the right kind". Le Bon Genre was one of the earliest series of prints to record the social trends & leisure activities of contemporary Parisian.

This particular piece depicts a street entertainer who was known for eating ate anything he was asked to. In this particular piece, he is shown eating a live mouse, holding a snake, while an assistant receives a dagger and rose from the audience.
