This fantastic early photograph of a bustling street scene in CANTON, China dates to circa 1930, by NICHOLAS CAVALIERE, who later became a cinematographer for Hollywood movie pictures. He was tasked with scouting locations for upcoming films from 1929-1934, and spent time in China during this period. He was a respected photographer in the art community as well, and has a portfolio of original works that have been sold in past auctions [for good money]. This photograph was found in New Haven, CT, where Cavaliere called home. It is a kinetic masterpiece, showcasing a long lost snippet in time. Condition is very good. Measures 21.5" by 19" in frame.
