Item Description

The artist Franz Frankl (1881-1940) was first trained as a graphic artist in Munich and later visited the Stuttgart Academy and the Strasbourg Arts Academy. He perfected his skills through further training in Paris and Metz. His works were primarily exhibited in Munich. This piece shows a stream or river going through a town in muted, earthy tones. A nice example of this artists work.
