Mettlach, Germany Stein

This antique stein portrays the capturing of a rabbit poacher. It was probably painted by Matthias Girmscheid at the turn of the century. Back marked. the is a small chip on the decorative rim near the handle, and the pewter thumb latch has been repaired where is joins the lid.

Consistent with age and use.
