Item Description

Spectacular, oversized book published by Reynal and Company, New York (1963). Printed in Italy. A thoroughly illustrated survey of Da Vinci's career. Hardcover cloth bound with gilted gold letterimg, dust jacket missing. Binding, spine and pages intact. Minor foxing on some pages, paper edges have slight discoloration due to age.

A complete and authoritative work on Leonardo. Originally published in Italy by the Instituto Geografico De Agostini just before the war, in conjunction with the famous exhibition of Leonardo's work in Milan in 1938. This revamped edition's illustration plates were redone and experts consider the quality to be superior over the original edition.
