Georges Braque, was born on May 13, 1882, in Argenteuil, France, and died on August 31, 1963, in Paris. Braque, along with Picasso, is credited with co-founding the Cubist movement, which revolutionized the art world in the early 20th century. Cubism sought to depict the essence of objects by breaking them down into geometric shapes and reassembling them in an abstract form.
Braque's early works were influenced by Fauvism and later evolved into Analytical Cubism. He often collaborated with Picasso during the Cubist period but also developed his unique style. Braque's art encompasses paintings, sculptures, and prints. His contributions to modern art have left a lasting impact, and his works are held in major museums and collections worldwide.
