Item Description

1954 Pop Warner Football League United States Championship "Piggy Bank Bowl" Trophy & a 53-page scrapbook of newspaper articles and photographs of the players and teams.
The four teams from the US that played in Meriden, CT, the Championship Tournament during November 26-28, 1954 were: from New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, and California. The winning team, from Long Island, NY was invited to appear on the Ed Sullivan Show on Sunday night. DIMENSIONS: 12" Wide Top Bowl Diameter x 6 1/2" Tall Trophy on top of a Pedestal that is another 3 3/4" Tall x 7 5/8" Wide Diameter. Total height is 9 7/8" Tall. The scrapbook is 13" Tall x 10".
CONDITION: The Scrapbook is overall in Good condition but does have the expected wear spots and marks of a journal its age. The large bowl Trophy is overall in Good Condition after its long 66-year life. The Silver plate does have some wear tarnish. I do not see any dents or bangs in the Silver plate trophy bowl. The bottom of the pedestal base has the original green protective felt.
