LARGE TERRA COTTA EARTHENWARE MALE & FEMALE MYTHICAL CENTAUR SCULPTURE BY EUROPEAN LITHUANIAN ARTIST. Spectacular artwork. Shipped from Lithuania in the early 2000’s. Seller does not remember artist’s name and we were not able to locate a signature nor original paperwork. Originally purchased in a gallery representing contemporary Lithuanian artists in Vilnius, Lithuania in the early 1990's. During shipping, damage to front horse leg and small figure’s foot, small figure was detached. All breaks clean, photographed before repair to show original damage. Small chip on base of vine. Unattached pieces repaired after first set of photos were taken, the last three photos show after repair. This is a heavy sculpture on a wooden base. Sculpture: 19 3/4” tall x 20” wide. Base: 10 3/4 wide x 9 3/4” long x 2 3/4” tall. Please see photos.
