A superb original bronze sculpture by well listed Polish artist VACCLAW [VICTOR] BERNARD SZCZEBLEWSKI, titled 'LE SIFFLEUR' or 'The Whistler'. It is quite large, standing 16.5" in height, and dated 1889. Artist signed, with an additional French foundry mark between his feet, on the base. It is an impressive sculpt, capturing the boy's serene expression and drape of his clothing masterfully. This sculpture has sold for as high as $1610- British Pounds [over $2400- USD] at a Christie's Auction. Good overall condition, as shown in the photos, especially in consideration of 135-year age.
