Lot #7 of 126
Item Description

A substantial fossil MEGALODON shark tooth, plus a fossil MAKO shark tooth [shows size difference between the 2 species]. The tooth measures an impressive 4.94", and is VERY wide, adding heft/weight. It has razor sharp serration along the entire edge, as well as a complete root and good enamel. Weighs 10 ounces [for a single tooth!]. Megalodon was an apex predator, measuring upwards of 65+ feet in length with a weight of 90 tons. To put it in perspective, its' descendent-the Great White- tops out at 21 feet in length and 2.5 tons. It preyed upon everything in the water, including the Mako sharks of the period. I have also included a fossil Mako shark tooth, 2.2" in length [still large] with amazing serration. Highly sought after by collectors.
