This auction is for a pair of jazz band musician statues that look like they strolled straight out of a New Orleans speakeasy. At about three feet tall, we have a stand-up bass player and saxophone band member. These two would be the perfect addition to your man cave. The attention to detail in creating these figures was outstanding. They have beautifully expressive faces and are painted well.
There is a molded maker's mark logo and date in Roman numerals that I am having trouble deciphering. Looks like a horseshoe with a charging horse, and the upper case script letters "R C."...or maybe the horseshoe stands for a "U", and the company is U. R. C. The year below the initials may be MCMXCI, 1991, making them 30 years old. I have included a close-up of it.
Below you will see the measurements for each figure.

Notes: Please view the numerous, detailed photos for an accurate appraisal of item condition. There are many scrapes, chips, scratches, scuffs and even a few holes. Variations in paint tone, drips of stain, newspaper that appears to be stuck on with shellac. Paint is worn off in areas. However these imperfections do not take away from the overall impact of this attractive pair
