Musee Grevin Avant La Lettre (Before Text), created in 1900, is one of the best known images by the great French artist, Jules Chéret. The poster advertises a show performance at the Musee Grevin in Paris. The Musee Grevin is a wax museum found on Boulevard Montmartre in Paris in 1892 and it is still operating. The colors and details of the artwork are reflective of Jules Cheret's detailed and flowing artistic style. . This version of the poster does not include the text which was intentionally left blank so that different lettering could be overprinted to promote future shows at the Musee Grevin.
