An exceptional high-quality bowl of iconic expert craftsmanship. The body is round with a finely chiseled pierced scroll design. Its sits on a multilayered pedestal. A bowl of the highest quality design that the whole world can appreciate!
A reticulated decorative bowl by James Dixon & Sons. Tapering on a pedestal, the sides pierced with a lovely scrolled, ribbon design. Engraved with symbols of British Sterling form 925-1000 pure.
James Dixon & Sons founded in 1806 in Sheffield, as one of the major British manufacturers of the “Industrial Revolution”. Their products include hundreds of items for use in the kitchen (e.g. bowls, cutting-tools) and the dining room (e.g. tea services, cocktail shakers and mixers) as well as items such as candlesticks. They were a world leader in manufacturing shooting accessories through nineteenth century and exported powder flasks in large quantities to America. Rare serving bowls as these are worth thousands of dollars in today's market.
