This extraordinary ethereal piece comes with an open interwoven vine leaf hand carved hardwood base and original marked box.
Crickets are known in Chinese as qūqū ,or xīshuài, or sometimes as cùzhī. Much beloved by the Chinese, and kept for their fighting ability and their song. In art, crickets are associated with spring, summer, happiness, and auspiciousness.
