Item Description

This VINTAGE FOLK ART sculpture- possibly a trade sign- is DOUBLE SIDED and VERY large, measuring an impressive 58" in length. It is a finely carved sperm whale in profile, with original paint and a wonderful weathered appearance. It is a shoreline treasure, likely carved in Nantucket [as per research of commensuate examples]. It has the holes for a mounting chain on the top, as it was found at a shoreline mansion estate. Nearly 5 feet in length, so a definite conversation piece!
