Framed clipping, newspaper article and autograph of Baseball Hall of Fame player - Honus Wagner, nicknamed The Flying Dutchman. He played in early baseball starting in 1897 (Louisville Colonels) until 1917 (Pittsburgh Pirates). He was also a coach (Pirates 1933-51) and manager (Pirates 1917).
It has the business card of the shop where someone purchased it: Time and Again, Inc, Hilton Head, SC. It also has the receipt from 1990 for 341.25 and a statement that the signature authenticity is guaranteed. It came from the Joe Bloom Collection. Iām guessing this person assembled it. The autograph is signed in ink (from a dip or fountain pen as far as I can tell), was on a piece of paper or program, cut out and cello taped to a piece of paper. Then the stats were typed, photo added and framed by the fan.
I took this all part to get a better look at everything and for the photos to be clearer.
The wooden frame painted silver frame measures 15ā x 19ā. It has glass. The autograph measures 2 3/4ā long.
Notes: Tape discolouration on back of paper of autograph, wear and rubs on frame, glass is good, newspaper is yellowed, items in frame are clean.
Consistent with age and use.
