Item Description

It is a rare dedicated TRAY or SALT/PEPPER CADDY, solid 750 silver [75% silver purity], from a MERCHEANT MARINE at sea, dating to the late 19th century. 750 silver was used in Scandanavian/ Northern European countries in the late Victorian Era [it was tested and is solid silver, not plated]. It is centered by a boat anchor. The mooring and figural rope wells are also solid silver. It has a dedication or name on the front- 'Robert Seiner Helene'. Either the sailor's name, or a dedication from Robert to his amore Helene/Helena. Measures 7" in length, 4" in height. A true rarity, but being opened for $1 with no reserve.
