Item Description

This fantastic lamp base is an original HANDEL, solid bronze with an orientalist motif. HANDEL was on par with TIFFANY STUDIOS during the early 20th century, when this lamp was made [it is circa 1910]. It is STRIKING in person, solid bronze with a Japanese inspired motif of flora and birds in flight. The base- also bronze- is pierced and highly decoarative, in the vein of Chinese/Japanese carved wood pedestals. It has 3 sockets, all functional. THe pull-strings are acorn form, a touch secluded to HANDEL lamps. It has a later wire [still vintage], which is commonplace considering the original was cloth wrapped and rarely held up to time. One of the sockets has slight malformation [barely noticeable but shown in the photos], and there is scant stress wear at the junction of the neck and base [shown in 1 of the photos]. It is a STUNNING original, and highly sought after by collectors the world over.

It stands 23" in height. Solid bronze, so quite heavy.

We are located in the commercial building BEHIND the main plaza, not at street level. Pull around BEHIND the plaza for pick up. We are the 3rd commercial space [American Flag waving in front].

SHIPPING IS AVAILABLE for all smaller/ manageable lots. Only items that can fit in a LARGE USPS FLAT RATE BOX [no large artwork or the arcade cabinet, for instance]. Payment for shipping is collected via PAYPAL or CHECK/MONEY ORDER only [no Venmo, Credit Card or Cashapp]. Shipping is a courtesy for buyers that live too far away for pick up. If you live several towns over, pick up only. Shipping invoices need to be paid within 4 days of auction close. Items too large to fit in a large USPS flat rate box need to be picked up. Shipping requests the DAY OF or AFTER auction pick up will be declined.
