This is an exceptional matchbox case by Edward Farmer. Edward Farmer was a decorator in NYC who also created exceptional sterling silver and jade artifacts. His objects incorporated antique Chinese carvings and were used in some of the finest homes around the city. His started his shop in 1913, and continued until his death in 1942. This piece features an elaborate jade carving, attached to a silver case. The jade is in good condition, no chips or cracks. I did not polish this piece, I did not want to touch it. The silver part measures 2 1/4" by 1 1/2" by 3x4". Overall this is n excellent condition, a great example of his work.
