Peter Max Authentic Signed Serigraph / The Roseville Bouquet

This beautiful Peter Max Serigraph on paper is Signed and Numbered and includes a Certificate of Authenticity from the Merrill Chase Gallery where it was purchased in 1992. Its year of publication was 1991 and is from a Limited Edition Numbered 109/300 and printed by Soma Fine Arts / Hanson Art Publishing. The print has been custom matted and framed in a black lacquer high gloss frame that works to highlight the colorful imagery. It was purchased together with 'The Roseville Suite' Serigraph for sale in this auction and have hung as a striking pair in this modern home office. The condition is in excellent condition has been well loved and cared for.

ABOUT IMAGE 'THE ROSEVILLE BOUQUET'
Peter Max's 'Roseville Bouquet' was inspired by his collection of the celebrated and beloved Roseville Pottery. Like the artisan pottery Max's "Roseville Bouquet' has influences from the early 20th Century Art Nouveau movement in the curves and swirls of the crown of flowers. It is also inspired by the Art Deco movement with its bold, geometric color fields. The feminine profile is painted in simple perfect strokes in striking scarlet on black. This exhilarating image brilliantly reproduces the bombastic color and detail of the artist's multicolored brushwork.
ABOUT PETER MAX
Born in 1937 Artist Peter Max was born in Berlin and spent his childhood in Shanghai. From China the family went to Tibet for a year and then on to Israel. Peter Max's family's odyssey continued to Paris and at the age of 16 Max arrived in the United States. Peter Max began his art studies in New York at the Art Student's League and continued at the Pratt Institute and School of Visual Arts. Peter Max, who is known throughout the world and is a household name in America, is famous for his new age style, cosmic imagery and multi-colored blends. During the late 1960's and early 70's Peter Max's colorful art reached millions of people and he won numerous major awards for his work. Peter Max's paintings, drawings, sculpture and limited edition graphics have been exhibited in major museums throughout the world.
