Item Description

Very unusual find! Original unnumbered screenprint of Piet Mondrian's "Composition No. 2/Composition of Red, Blue, Yellow & White" published by Ives-Sillman on [????? woven, thick???] paper. The print is one of ten included in a limited edition portfolio "After Piet Mondrian" of 150 were produced in 1967. https://onlineonly.christies.com/s/first-open-editions/portfolio-10-paintings-584/30075

A promotional piece? The explanatory text facing the print introduces the project and indicates the portfolio "to be published in the Fall, 1966".

Print has been stored in original folder as shown in photographs. Current owner is an artist and former printmaker who worked for Ives-Sillman during the time this was printed. ***Print itself is in very good condition, paper it is mounted on shows some discoloration****
