Georgian Era Antique Silver Bar Pin; Very Old Unusually Large Segmented Setting Holds 10C. Facetted Amethyst

Forgive the large number of photographs but this piece is so special and very very old; from the Georgian Era (early 1700s - early 1800s). It is truly museum quality and most likely French or British. It measures a full 4” long! Pale natural amethyst is 10 carats (20mm x 15mm). Substantial and heavy sterling setting with working barrel clasp, boasts a handmade (slightly primitive) segmented bezel; a rare collectible piece!

Notes: Excellent antique condition; the face of the stone is free from scratches.
