Baseball was so popular in the 1800s (it was the only national sport), that the magnates were desperate to keep the game going through the winter. Ice baseball did not catch on; it was easier just to play in Cuba or Venezuela during the cold months. View 6.5" x 9"; frame 12.5"x15.5"
