Item Description

This very beautiful and elegant French estate sideboard was made by the French furniture maker E. Poteau and was purchased in Paris. It has a marble top with an attached arched and thickly beveled panel mirror back. The marble top is deep green with veins running through. Atop and hanging over the the mirror is a carved gilt florets and wreath design. A beaded design follows the mirror border. There are three top pull out storage drawers that would have housed all the silver a girl needs :). Throughout the buffet there is beautiful brass ormolu decorating the top, drawers and and legs. These elegant touches nod to the French Louis XVL design and elaborate details, marble top and commanding size of the sideboard make it the estate piece it is.

If you have the dining space - like to entertain as this owner did - and want to add a Grand Statement Piece to your home this is your buffet! Or would work wonderfully in a retail space as display. It has lived in this Greenwich estate home for sixty years where its has seen many a dinner party given by its owner known for extravagant soirees!
