Queen's Bird was first introduced in 1937. It was designed by Harold Holdway and exhibited at the British Industries Fair in 1937. HM Queen Mary bought a set and gave permission for it to be named Queen's Bird. The central motifs take their influence from an old Dutch Delft design. Originally produced on Stone China on Lowestoft shape it was produced on grey earthenware after the end of the production of fine stone still on the same shape. By 2002 the pattern had been discontinued.
