Chinese Carved Bone Medallion With Dragon Motif

Intriguing carved bone medallion in an a roughly hexagonal shape with a design featuring a dragon encircling the piece with a landscape scene in the center depicting a pagoda, tree and mountain and some Chinese characters on the right side. This is a mysterious piece purchased from an estate sale on the Eastern Connecticut shoreline - no one knew anything about it. Either Chinese or Chinese inspired, no idea of age.
