BURMESE KALAGA TEXTILE Depicting A Restful, Artistic Scene

This beautiful wall hanging dates to the 2nd half of the 20th century. It is skillfully crafted of silk, linen, yellow, gold, bronze and silver metallic threads, silver and gold sequins, clear beads for highlights, and black beads for the details. Displayed is an expert craftsman’s embroidery skills in quilting and sewing. All figurines are stuffed and raised from the surface. There are 10 tabbed loops for hanging on a bar at the top. The top bar is included with acorn shaped ends that are connected by a black bar, complementing the colors of the tapestry.
