“In the 1970's Louis Vuitton developed a relationship with a US Luggage Maker- The French Luggage Company. During a period from around 1976 through 1991, The French Company manufactured bags under a special license from Louis Vuitton. These items were made and sold in the United States. They were sold in more exclusive department stores like Saks Fifth Avenue and Neiman Marcus. This bag has some differences with the traditional Louis Vuitton monogram speedy. The leather is a thicker and not the easily watermarked vachetta leather of current bags. Leather band at the bottom and thick canvas keeps bag shape and not so sagging. The zipper pull is Talon and combined with Tucky lock system. No Louis Vuitton embossed on leather, no date code but there is a paper tag inside shows copyright and authority of the bag.”

This is the medium size of the bag that is structured loosely in the traditional doctor bag style. The Speedy features classic Louis Vuitton monogram toile canvas complimented with Louis Vuitton signature natural vachetta cowhide leather. This includes piping at the sides and sturdy, durable rolled leather top handles and anchors linked together with polished brass handle rings. The top zipper is bronze and made to last.

Comes with extras like interior OWL organizer/bag shaper and 2 pairs of handmade handle covers (not LV brand). Patina on handles and other vintage signs of wear. See photos for details.
