Wally and Stafford lifted off on Gemini VI in December of 1965. They would go on to perform the first-ever rendezvous of two spacecrafts in orbit. Their efforts to advance our nation's space program will forever live on in future missions. The mission priorities were to demonstrate on-time launch procedures, closed-loop rendezvous capabilities, and stationkeeping techniques with Gemini 7. Other objectives were to evaluate the spacecraft reentry guidance capabilities, and conduct spacecraft systems tests and four experiments.
