An early example of Victorian 'Mourning' jewelry, substantial in scale [used a quarter for comparison], gold-filled, circa 1850s/60s. It has a photo of the beloved on one side, and a tightly woven locket of her hair on the other. It was a common practice during the 18th-19th centuries to wear these remembrances as a token to the deceased. This example is quite unusual for its' LARGE size, and that is can actually revolve, so the wearer could choose to display. the locket of hair or photo. Similar examples can go for substantial sums, but we are opening it at $1 with no reserve.
