Item Description

An incredible vintage steamer trunk, this piece is dated back to July 1 1873 according to markings on the latches. A previous bill of passenger from the New Haven Steam Boat Company still legible on bottom states "If not called for in 10 days please advise Edward M Muller Broadway, New York."

Further research leads me to believe that the trunk Originally came to the United States with the above Edward Muller (1936-2012) when he immigrated to the United States in 1952 from Scotland. In 1980 he relocated from NY NY to Westport, Had children, one of which attended Yale, and thus how this amazing trunk has ended up here in our neck of the woods when local Branford resident acquired trunk from Yale student. This history of this piece is not verified, it is my own amautuer sluething giving the information i had based on the markings and passenger bill on the trunk.
