Antique Spinet Desk

Unusual antique desk (likely 1900-1910 vintage) has fold back cover that makes this look like a table. Solid mahogany with turned legs and applied decorative elements to the front (damaged, see photos). One front drawer, pull out writing surface and several pigeon holes, one with drawer. Minor scuffs and dings from age and use. Unknown maker. We found similar ones selling online for $1200 and up!

Info found online: A spinet desk is an antique desk with an exterior shape similar to a writing table, but slightly higher and is fitted with a single drawer under the whole length of the flat top surface. The spinet desk is so named because when closed it resembles a spinet, a musical instrument of the harpsichord family.
