Antique Ornate Frame Watercolor - Italy - Farm - Oxen Cart - Men - Haystack - Country Road - A Bencivenga

Antique ornately framed watercolour - a country road with men, oxen, cart, haystack, little shrine with cross, artist signed A Bencivenga. The wooden/gesso/gold frame has some damage but is really lovely and detailed. It is double matted in off-white and gold and covered with glass.
I’m guessing from the artist’s name and from the haystack and shrine that this is probably Italy. It’s well done and a lovely slice of history.

Frame measures 19 3/4” x 29”.
Opening measures 10 3/4” x 20 1/2”.

Notes: Some chipping/loss of gesso on frame, glass is ok, some yellowing on the matte, art looks pretty good.

Consistent with age and use.
