Item Description

Antique, Hand-Crafted, Octagonal Sewing Chest With Embroidered Top. Can also be put to good use with the storing of letter, personal papers, or trinkets. Hand crafted in the USA circa 1900 to 1940 and it has developed a beautiful antique patina.

Nice wood finial handle on the underside of the Lid; beautiful floral embroidery design with silk ribbon trims on the Lid & Inside the box; Original brass Hinges. DIMENSIONS: 14" Across from the corner points x 5" Tall. Interior storage space: 9 1/4" Deep x 9 1/2" Width x 3" Tall.
Condition: This wood box is in GOOD condition considering its age and years of enjoyable use. The outer octagonal edge-frame has some separation in one of the back left joints. The patina is wonderful!! The top lid embroidery background is a Pinkish color and the interior retains the original deep red, white, green and blue tones. Yes it may have some dust, some age related scratches, etc- but no major gouges or cracks. Please study my photos.
