Antique Giltwood Rococo Mirror, Late 18th To Early 19th Century

An elegant giltwood mirror in the Rococo style, dating to the late 18th to early 19th century. The mirror features an ornate, carved frame adorned with scrolling acanthus leaves, floral garlands, and a central urn motif flanked by foliate details. The beveled mirror is framed by intricate gilding that exhibits a warm patina developed over time. The reverse side reveals hand-crafted wooden backing, consistent with antique construction methods.

Notes: The mirror is in fair condition, with notable wear commensurate with age. There are areas of gilding loss, visible splits in the wood, and evidence of old repairs to the frame, particularly at the bottom. The mirror glass shows some age-related spotting but retains good reflectivity. The wooden backing is original, though a small cardboard segment appears to have been added during a past repair.
