Antique ASHWORTH BROTHERS Aesthetic Movement MELROSE Brown Transferware Platter
Platter measures 17 1/4" x 13 1/2"
This pattern is called Melrose, and there are many c=variations in the details of this design.
Our platter features a Turkey in the lower right. This is almost always game birds such as Quail, Grouse & Pheasant - bout the sis the only time I have seen a Turkey.
The platter is in very good shape.
No chips and no cracks.
It does have some crazing and very light related discoloration, commensurate with age.
Please review all photos.
The back is clear marked A BROS in underglaze with the pattern name Melrose.
It is also blind stamped ASHWORTH.
Made in Staffordshire England.
