Cedar is great to protect wool, cashmere, silk, fur, feathers etc. against moth damage. This is an antique cedar chest from the 1920s. It is a large size to store blankets, coats, sweaters, and other valuables. It is approximately 48 inches long X 20 inches wide X 20 inches tall. It does have an area where a veneer piece is missing and on the same side, the foot is missing a piece of wood. This does not affect the balance. There is a lot of wear and tear to the surface, but this does not impact the function of this chest. Just gently rub the inside with fine grain sandpaper to bring out the cedar to protect your valuables. This is a beautiful old chest and would make a great winter project. There is no key, however, the locking mechanism turns to keep the chest closed.
Notes: Inside is in good condition and very usable. Outside needs refinishing. No key
Consistent with age and use.
