John Deng was born in Shanghai, China. He graduated from college with a degree in fine art and taught art at college level for several years. In his early years in New York, he studied Photography in School of Visual Arts and NYU Tisch School of the Arts.
In 1998, he started his own commercial photography studio in New York City. However, travel, landscape and fine art photography really inspire his passion and creativity. In recent years, he traveled to China, Japan, India, Myanmar, Laos, Nepal, Bhutan, Malaysia, Ethiopia, Cuba, Peru and Antarctica. He has spent most of his time on fine art photography. He has exhibited his works widely across the US in various galleries and top national shows.
