Pair of commemorative Durham, North Carolina centennial commemorative green and white porcelain plates featuring in the center Duke University and the words "Industry, Education, Medicine" with a border featuring many of the industries and sites that made this location known in the mid-1800s when it marked its centennial. The back states "This Souvenir Centennial Plate has been specifically designed to commemorate The One-Hundredth Anniversary of The City of Durham, North Carolina, which occasion dates from April 26, 1853." Wired to be hung on the wall, as shown.
