A charming pair of Victorian-era English silverplate teaware by JA pair of exquisite Victorian-era English silverplate teapots by James Dixon & Sons, Sheffield. Both teapots feature an elegant lobed body design embellished with intricate repoussé floral and foliate patterns. Each piece is adorned with a finial sculpted in the form of fruit nestled among leaves, adding a naturalistic flourish to the design. The smaller teapot includes a curved spout, arched handle, and a hinged lid, while the larger pot could serve as a coffee pot or hot water pot, with a matching ornate design and a more elongated profile. Both rest gracefully on four floral-accented feet. Hallmarked on the underside with the James Dixon & Sons insignia and model number "75778."
Dimensions:
Smaller Teapot: Approximately 7.5" H x 9" L.
Larger Pot (Coffee/Hot Water Pot): Approximately 6" H x 11" L.
Notes: Both pots exhibit a beautiful iridescent patina consistent with age, adding to their charm. Tarnish and surface wear are evident and can be polished if desired. Hinges on the lids are functional, and no major dents or structural issues are observed. These pieces are in good antique condition, showcasing the fine craftsmanship of James Dixon & Sons.
