1855 edition "English Opium Eater, and Suspriria De Profundis" Published by Ticknor and Fields. 288 pages. Includes detailed etching of De Quincey protected with overlay. Dark brown cloth bound, covers are in very good condition and have decorative embossing and the spine text in gold lettering. Spine, binding, and pages are all intact. Minor discoloration and foxing - most present on De Quincy etching.
1867 "New Edition" full title reads "Confessions of an English Opium-Eater and Analects from John Paul Richter, by Thomas De Quincey. Published by Alfred Thomas Crocker, London. 123 pages. Cloth bound in vibrant cobalt blue, gorgeous gold lettering on the cover shows has some ripples. Spine intact with minor scuffing on top and bottom. Binding and pages are fully intact. Yellow endpapers show some patterned discoloration from adhesive and there is a small notation on right.
