A nice working machine by Victor Talking Machine Co of Camden, NJ. An antique Victrola with extra accessories!
Model VV XI Serial number 291406G. This dates the Manufacture date to 1916.
So most of the parts, and many extra accessories come with this Victor Victrola.
The crank winds the spring and the green felt- covered turntable spins. I attached what looks like NEW stylus! It is a special stylus ( see photo details ). Once I attached the stylus and dropped the needle- it played beautifully- it didn't even need a speed adjustment / fine tuning.
Other accessories include: many, many needles; a wood & cloth record cleaner; an add on electric Amplion amp & an Atlas loud speaker Speaker Type B (not tested); a long extension cord to connect to you power source....but the plug is not a current ( of today's standards) connection; three Victor records with original Victor Records printed paper jackets; extra stylus parts.
The cabinet has stylish wood "wings" on both the front right & front left corner edges! The two top small doors can be opened or closed to adjust the sound volume. If you like....it can even play loudly! The lower two larger doors open up to a Record storage Cabinet. There is an antique key that locks the top lid. Each leg has brass and wood casters. The four feet have styled carving designs too.
45" tall x 20" wide x 23" deep.
The VV-XI or "Victrola the Eleventh" was Victor's top-selling machine of all time. Introduced in 1910 as a premium tabletop model, it soon transitioned into a fully enclosed floor phonograph that became Victor's #1 product during its 11-year production run. More than 850,000 VV-XI phonographs were produced between 1910 and 1921, outselling all other models by a wide margin.
