Item Description

Illustrated by Joseph Pennel, published by Houghton, Mifflin and Co. (1900), printed by Riverside Press. Dark green pictoral cloth hardcover with gilt lettering on spine and cover. Spine, binding and pages are intact - minus one plate that has detatched. Foxing on back of frontispiece plate.

This is the first illustrated edition of the text first published in 1884 and includes a new preface by James.

Bookplate inside front cover reads "This Book Belongs to Carl Purington Roffins"
