The Tarascan people of Western Mexico can be traced back to Pre-Colombian times and can be associated with the Aztec, Mixtec and other Tribes of that time. This Mask is Hand-Carved of a beautifully grained hardwood and has a great age patina. With a somber and expressive face and downturned mouth. Very good condition with only expected and enhancing wear. With old taped label on the interior stating, “Tarascan Indians.”
The Mask measures 21.25” high by 9.5” wide by 3” deep.
