260, Large Platter Blue Edge With People All Over

This is a gorgeous platter with unparalleled detail and design. The plate has a deep blue and white floral patterned border. A performer stands in the middle of a crowd in front of the village church. Perhaps an early fete. The platter has some cracks that have been repaired. It could be used but it is such a beautiful show piece that I think most would use it that way instead.

This auction item and another 100 or so were from the owners, now deceased, father. They were purchased at auction in the 19070s-80s in New York City at auction houses like Christie's and Sotheby's. He unfortunately left very little paperwork behind so great items, but not much info. Gorgeous items nonetheless!
