Two antique, 19th-Century French majolica apple plate, circa 1870-1880 from the Fives Lille factory. The plate is hand molded and hand painted; the apple is 3 dimensional, approximately 2.375" in height. The colors are vivid and bright. The Faïencerie Fives Lille was founded c. 1862 by Antoine Gustave De Bruyn (1838-1916) who came from a long line of Belgian potters and settled in Lille, France. The plate is unmarked like most antique majolica. It has an attached hanger and is ready to hang. Approx. Value $300 - $500.
