1960's Frank Vacante Surrealist Abstract Titled - Unfinished Study Of Man In Time - Figural Landscape

We are unable to locate any reference for this artists work, but it is clear he had talent and looks to have had some influence from famous artist Salvador Dali (picture his most known work - the Persistence of Time with the melting clocks, very similar), or others like Picasso, Chagall & Tanguy. Dated 1969 this oil on canvas measures 30" x 26" in size, is signed Vacante at base picturing a desert like landscape, worn sandstone rocks & features protruding from the desert floor. The primary figural rock formation is of a man reclining or stretched out among the angular rocks, head facing down towards chest, mixtures of oranges, black, reds & more form a surreal landscape at end of day. A painting that captures your attention and moves you at the same time to think. Titled on reverse - Unfinished Study of Man in Time, dated 1969 and signed Frank Vacante. Found in the Woodstock, NY area - possible unknown itinerant artist? They had talent for certain. Condition decent, some minor scuffs/marks but no tears to canvas, some light soiling but no water damage.

Consistent with age and use.
