Vintage Abe Lincoln figural bank bottle - from Lincoln Foods, Lawrence, Massachusetts.
Together the glass form and the black cap create the appearance of Honest Abe's famous stovepipe hat. A mid-century Abraham Lincoln figural bottle designed to be a bank after the strawberry syrup was used up- it was then that people would push the slot out of the cap creating a coin slot. The figural clear glass bottle depicts Abe Lincoln in his traditional speech giving pose.

Made by Lincoln Foods of Lawrence, Mass. The bottles were sold with fruit syrup, usually strawberry. Marked on the back, “LINCOLN BANK BOTTLE”, and on the bottom, “LINCOLN FOODS INC – LAWRENCE, MASS.”, and patent information. The glass company trademark of an oval, an I, and a diamond tells us that these bottles were manufactured by the Owens- Illinois Glass Company - this was their first trademark that they used between 1929 and the mid to late 1950's. The 17 to the left designates the factory where it was made and the 52 is the date it was made - 1952.
